Warren launches her 2020 Presidential bid

Novelty Betting & Other Events Betting

Elizabeth Warren is among the first to officially throw her hat into the ring for next year’s US Presidential election and it’s satisfying to see that there is a very strong selection of female candidates this time around.

The Democratic senator typically launched her campaign for the White House with a rally in the working-class Massachusetts town of Lawrence. Senator Warren’s campaign will focus on economic inequality and target the working class in America, putting her in direct opposition to Donald Trump.

Warren, however, believes the sitting President is a symptom of everything that is wrong in America, not the cause. But she has still called the current administration ‘the most corrupt in living memory’ and has promised major changes, if elected, to a system she describes as ‘ rigged’.

Elizabeth Warren, a lawyer and academic, is 25/1 with Betfred to become US President in 2020 but will, first of all, have to earn the Democratic nomination and she trails Kamala Harris in the polls.

Harris is only a best 6/1 with Betway to win the US Presidential election next year and become the first woman to hold the post. The Senator for California has boosted her chances by inducting Jalisa Washington-Price into her campaign team. The latter was the chief of staff of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, helping Democrats win back a majority in the U.S. House in November. In 2016, she was South Carolina director for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Clinton won the state’s Democratic primary in a landslide.

Joe Biden (11/1 with Betway) is now in his seventies but Barack Obama’s vice-president has hinted he might have one last stab at the top job. But he doesn’t have the profile of a typical Democratic presidential candidate and some of his views could be too divisive.

Amazingly, Donald Trump is only a best 2/1 to gain a second term in the White House. Of course, events may yet overtake one of the most controversial presidents of all time if the Mueller report’s findings do suggest that the Trump campaign of 2016 colluded with the Russians. Never has a Commander-in-Chief attracted such opposing views of his leadership. He hires and fires at will and tends to treat the Constitution as something that can manipulated to his own preferences but still has a strong base in the south. That said, the electorate did largely blame him for the recent Government shutdown and he has to tread more carefully now that the Democrats hold power in the Senate.
