Dutch Destroyer to make progress

Awaiting the winner of this first-round match will be 10th seed Dave Chisnall. This is a match from the third quarter of the PDC Darts World Championship 2020 draw. The Dutch Destroyer Vincent van der Voort has been to the quarter-finals of the tournament twice before in his career. The first time going that deep was in 2011 and the most recent was in 2015.

He has made third round exits at the last two attempts. He’s not a major threat to any of the big guns in the field in terms of winning the title. His best finish in a televised tournament this year was a quarter-final berth at the recent European Championships. Regardless, he should easily find his way past Keane Barry.

Keane Barry is a 17-year-old who does have a little pedigree. He won the 2019 World Boys Masters. He also ran to the final four of the 2019 PDC World Youth Championships as well. So the young Irish lad is certainly an exciting prospect. It was a victory at the Tom Kirby Irish Matchplay that booked him his spot at these World Championships.

Prediction

This is a big moment for young Barry on the biggest stage of all. It will be interesting to see how he handles himself, but a 3-0 correct score for Vincent van der Voort still looks the most reasonable option* (betting odds taken from bet365 on December 13th, 2019 at 2:58 pm)
