Wales News and Form

The Welsh got off to a cracking start in their Nations League campaign, thumping Ireland 4-1 on home soil. But then they were brought down to earth a bit as they suffered a loss against Denmark. They will face Ireland again on the 16th in Dublin in an important match in that Nations League group. A win for the Welsh in that would pretty much leave Ireland staring at relegation. The Welsh have an injury doubt over Gareth Bale for this and their upcoming game against Ireland.

Wales are W4 D2 L4 in their last ten international games, one win in their last four having been posted. There is always the question of where the goals are going to come from for the Welsh and indeed they have scored in just one of their last four games. There is naturally going to be a bigger focus on their efforts coming up against Ireland and we are looking under 2.5 goals at 17/2 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from October 8th, 2018 at 3:35 p.m.)

Spain News and Form

Spain opened their Nations League account, their first game under new boss Luis Enrique, with a win over England. Then they went out and absolutely stuffed World Cup 2018 runners-up Croatia 6-0 in their second match. Not a bad way to start life under a new manager. Clearly under Enrique Spain are much more direct, they just want to get to the goal as quickly as possible without all the tika-taka stuff. They looked pretty exhilarating against Croatia, a far cry from Spain we saw at the World Cup.

In the bet365 correct score market, a Spain 2-0 looks a comfortable return for a friendly and that is at 6/1 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from October 8th, 2018 at 3:35 p.m.). Following this, Spain, who are incidentally still undefeated in a game since their Euro 2016 exit, will go and meet England on October 15th in the Nations League. So this is just a warm-up for that and Enrique won’t send out a full-strength side for ninety minutes obviously.

Wales v Spain Predictions

Spain to win: Wales can be forgiven for holding something back ahead of their clash against Ireland on the 16th. That’s more important than this one. Spain have looked very good since the World Cup and we have to back the visitors to get the win.
