Wasps v Harlequins Rugby Betting Odds & Preview – 17th September, 2017

Wasps to cover -13 handicap at Ricoh Arena

Rugby Betting

Wasps have made a flying start to the new Premiership season as they have won their opening two matches of the new term. They have some formidable home form as well with a twenty match winning streak at the Ricoh Arena. There probably isn’t going to be too much pressure coming into them in this one because Harlequins are not great travellers so Wasps are heavy odds-on favourites at William Hill to collect maximum points in this one.

Wasps v Harlequins Betting Odds

Wasps 1/7, Quins 9/2

There should be a bonus point on offer for them as well here. Because there is no value in the match outright on them, you are going to have to go shopping around the handicaps. Wasps opened with a 50-35 demolition job over Sale and then they battled their way past a combative Worcester 10-24 last weekend at Sixways to make it two wins from two. So you can see the kind of margin that you are going to be looking at going into Sunday’s clash.

A Wasps -13 Handicap at William Hill comes in at 10/11 and that should be covered nicely. Wasps will be boosted by the return of Elliot Daly as well but they are still missing a bunch of players so Dai Young is having to shuffle things around a little bit. But that is expected at this level. A big trend up in this fixture is that the last seven Premiership matches between these have been won by the home side.

Quins, as mentioned, haven’t been great away from home because they have taken just get one win away from home in the Premiership since beating Gloucester at Kingsholm back at the start of March. Their overall form is a concern as well with just the two wins in their last six matches in the Premiership home and away. One of those wins did come against Wasps though last season at The Stoop.

But taking Wasps down at the Ricoh Arena is a different matter altogether for them, despite being packed with England internationals. Wasps last lost at home against Harlequins in a European Champions Cup clash back in 2014 at Adams Park and they have won all three of their home matches at the Ricoh Arena against the Quins. That winning streak is very likely to continue on Sunday with Harlequins going as 9/2 underdogs.
