Watford News and Form – Is a first win coming for Watford?

The Hornets are still trying to make that breakthrough of getting their first league win of the season. They have drawn four of their last six games, those four points being all that they have to show for their efforts in this campaign. They did get a 1-1 draw against Spurs last weekend though in a much-improved performance. The goal, by Abdoulaye Doucoure, is the only goal that the Hornets have scored in their last four league games.

Watford have only scored in four of their nine league games this season, tallying up the five goals for the campaign. Three of those five goals have come at Vicarage Road. The Hornets have shipped an average of two goals per home fixture this season. Two-thirds of fixtures at Vicarage Road have gone over 2.5 goals.

It is only twice in this campaign that the Hornets have scoring the opening goal of a league game. They have been leading for an average of 13 minutes per match this season. It has been such a poor season that it’s hard to find many positives. It is a thirteen match winless streak of form that Watford are on in the top flight. Jose Holebas misses out because of suspension and Danny Welbeck is out through injury along with Troy Deeney.

Bournemouth News and Form – Can the Cherries earn three points at Watford?

Bournemouth played out, what for them will have been a disappointing 0-0 draw at home against the struggling Norwich last weekend. That is back to back games now in which Bournemouth have failed to score. They were going pretty well in front of goal up until that point, so maybe it is nothing more than a temporary dip from them. Can they lift themselves in this one? Bournemouth have away form of W2 L2 this season.

In their last away games Bournemouth suffered a 1-0 defeat at Arsenal. The two victories that they took on their travels this season came against teams who are occupying a spot down in the bottom half of the table. So that at least is a good sign for them here. The Cherries have not collected a clean sheet away from the Vitality this season. Their 0-0 draw against Norwich at the Vitality last weekend was their first clean sheet of the season.

Of Bournemouth’s away games, 75% of them have ended over 2.5 goals. Of the six goals that they have scored out on the road, five of them have been in the first 45 minutes of action. Four of the six have been netted within the first fifteen minutes of fixtures. Bournemouth have opened the scoring in four league fixtures in this campaign. Yes, they can be unpredictable, but they should be competitive at Vicarage Road.

Watford v Bournemouth Predictions

Bournemouth to win: The value is on the away win in this one. Bournemouth have missed the boat in their last couple of games, but are better than that. They have more quality up front than Watford have. Even though Watford played much better last weekend, the away win looks a decent poke.
