Watford News and Form – Will Watford earn a home win over Swansea?

Watford are in a bad place at the moment. They have failed to win a Premier League game this season and were smashed 8-0 by Man City on the weekend. A change of manager has already happened and they are just a mess. If you take their massive defeat against Man City on the weekend out of the picture, Watford have been defensively unstable all season.

Their only win for this season happened in the last round of the EFL Cup when they beat Coventry 3-0 at Vicarage Road. That has been their only clean sheet this season too. Watford have taken a W2 L5 record in their last seven League Cup fixtures (including extra time). They were actually on a four-match winless streak of home form in the competition before they got that win over Coventry in the last round.

Swansea News and Form -Will Swansea knock out Watford?

Swansea’s form in the Championship can’t be knocked. They played out a 0-0 draw against Bristol City on the weekend in the division. That left them sitting in second place after the eighth round of action in the Championship, level on points with leaders Leeds. A league defeat against Nottingham Forest recently is their only one in any competition that Swansea have suffered since the middle of April. Their away form isn’t to be messed with either.

The Swans are undefeated in six road games across all competitions, with a W3 D3 return from that. Their League Cup campaign began with a 3-1 home victory over Northampton and then they rolled out a big 6-0 home success over Cambridge. The Swans have lost their last two out on the road in the competition though. However, it is a three-match winning streak in the League Cup that Swansea finds themselves on, scoring at least two goals in each of those three successes.

Watford v Swansea Predictions

Swansea to win: Given the mess that Watford currently find themselves in, then a win for Swansea, who are in pretty good shape, isn’t totally out of the picture in this one. The Welsh club has to be worth a flutter. Away win
