West Brom v Brighton Preview

Neither could come up with a goal at the Amex and so West Brom and Brighton have to do it all over again. The Baggies are on a good promotion push at the moment in the Championship, although they lost 2-3 at home against Middlesbrough in a big clash on the weekend. That snapped a four-match undefeated streak of form that they were on, which includes the 0-0 draw against Brighton. West Brom are the top scoring side in the Championship this season and so they are going to carry a threat in this one. What the Throstles can also bring to the table is a bit of home form. Their loss at the Hawthorns on the weekend against Middlesbrough snapped an eight-match unbeaten streak that they were on all in all competitions in the Midlands. They have lost just four home games all term.

Key-Facts – West Brom v Brighton

  • The Baggies have lost one of their last nine home games
  • The Seagulls have one away clean sheet all term
  • Brighton have lost four of their last six away games

Try as they might, Brighton couldn’t put a goal on the board at home against Watford in the Premier League on the weekend. That leaves them on a five-match winless streak of form and with only the two in their last twelve played in all competitions. Brighton have failed to score in two of their last three. It will be interesting to now see how they handle themselves on the road. This is a tricky game for the Premier League side and the Seagulls haven’t been good travellers. A 3-1 win at Bournemouth in the last round of the FA is their only win in six away from the Amex (D1 L4). They have won just three away games in all competitions this season. They have, however, been scoring a bit more frequently, having averaged exactly two goals per game in their last four road fixtures. Mind you they have just the one away clean sheet under their belt all season.
