West Bromwich Albion v Millwall Betting Tips – EFL Championship, 10th August 15.00pm

Slaven Bilic got off to a winning start as West Bromwich Albion boss last weekend, as the Croatian guided the club to a 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest. Will the Baggies pick up another victory when they entertain Neil Harris’ Millwall at The Hawthorns this Saturday? The Lions also claimed a win in their opening game, but they head to the Midlands as the underdogs. West Brom will be targeting all three points from this home game.

West Bromwich Albion News and Form – Bilic’s Baggies to win again?

After missing out on promotion to the Premier League last season, the West Bromwich Albion board acted quickly to bring in former West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic. The Croatian is a proven manager, and the Baggies have been tipped to have a strong season under his tutelage.

West Brom started their campaign in the best possible way last weekend. Despite going behind early on at the City Ground, goals from Kyle Edwards and Matt Phillips were enough to give Albion a 2-1 away victory at Nottingham Forest.

West Brom brought in Charlie Austin on deadline to bolster an already very strong squad at this level. Semi Ajayi, Romaine Sawyers and Kenneth Zohore – plus a few others – also made the move to The Hawthorns over the summer. Meanwhile, the likes of Gareth Barry, Craig Dawson, James Morrison and Jay Rodriguez have departed.

West Brom will no doubt be in the race for automatic promotion this season. Having got off to a flyer last Saturday, will Albion make it six points from a possible six with another win this weekend?

  • The Baggies have won each of their last six at home

Millwall News and Form – Lions to struggle at The Hawthorns?

Millwall finished in eighth place in the 2017-18 season, but the London club had a very disappointing campaign last time around. The Lions were in a relegation battle practically all season long, eventually finishing just four points above the drop zone in 21st spot.

The south Londoners were particularly poor on the road, winning just three, drawing five and losing a staggering 15 of their 23 fixtures away from The Den. The Lions ended last term with five defeats from their last seven away matches.

Nevertheless, Millwall kicked off this season with a 1-0 home win over Alex Neil’s Preston North End. Harris’ side saw less of the ball on home turf, but Jed Wallace’s 33rd-minute strike won the points for the Lions.

Millwall will be hoping for a much better season this time around. The Lions certainly have enough in the locker to avoid the drop, but Saturday’s fixture at The Hawthorns could be a step too far for the London club.

West Bromwich Albion v Millwall Predictions

West Bromwich Albion win: The Baggies won by two goals or more on six occasions in the Championship last term. On their day, West Brom are capable of putting any side to the sword, and I’m backing the hosts to secure an easy win here. Put some money on Albion to win -2 at the tempting odds of 6/1. Also, I like the look of 14/1 for a 3-0 home victory.
