Hammers can keep up their good record against the Eagles

Premier League Betting at Unibet

It’s East v South in this weekend’s derby at the London Stadium between two sides who have made a stronger start to the Premier League campaign than most pundits would have envisaged. Can the Hammers down the Eagles and maintain their upward momentum – or will their capital rivals leapfrog them in the table?

West Ham Form and Team News

After a 5-0 thrashing by champions Manchester City on the opening day of the season, the Hammers have been unbeaten in six outings since in the league.
They have beaten Norwich City and Manchester United at the London Stadium without conceding a goal but Manuel Pellegrini will have to cope for several weeks without first-choice goalkeeper Lucasz Fabianski, the Polish stopper suffering a hip injury in last week’s exciting 2-2 draw at Bournemouth. Roberto, his replacement last weekend, now looks set for an extended run in the Hammers’ first team.
Fabianski’s absence is a blow for West Ham as he has a wealth of experience. But the players in front of him have been doing their job and there is new-found optimism in the East End that the relegation worries of recent seasons have been banished for a while.
It’s probably vital for their long-term future that they resist overtures for England’s Declan Rice, who shows maturity beyond his years. He helps anchor the midfield along side Mark Noble, who is West Ham through and through. Andriy Yarmolenko has scored in three of the Hammers’ last four Premier League matches and it looks like the Ukrainian winger is intent on making up for lost time having suiffered with injury problems since signed from Borussia Dortmund last summer. Aaron Cresswell has also been among the goals lately and Brazilian Felipe Anderson brings balance and flair to West Ham’s forward line. They are not the finished article yet but early signs are promising and the Hammers have a list of upcoming fixtures in the next month from which they will fancy their chances of accumulating a few more points.

Crystal Palace Form and Team News

Jordan Ayew has been a revelation for Palace this season in a start that has delighted Eagles’ fans.
The Ghanaian striker has only scored twice so far this season but his all-round game brings plenty to Palace’s attacking options and he has generally been the fulcrum around which wide men Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend operate.
Ayew was on target when Roy Hodgson’s men gained a famous victory at Old Trafford in August but that has been the only bright spot so far away from Selhurst Park for Palace. They have already lost at Sheffield United and Tottenham and failed to score on either occasion. Scoring goals is, in fact, fast becoming an obvious deficiency. They have scored more than once in only two matches since the start of the campaign.
That said, only Spurs have scored more than once against them in eight matches since the start of the current campaign so they have adjusted well without Aaron Wan-Bissaka. No doubt, the signing of veteran former England defender Gary Cahill has had an influence on those stats but the Eagles do tend to play with a midfield five on the road so will be looking to burst the Hammers’ bubbles by closing down quickly and looking to counter on the break.

West Ham v Crystal Palace Head-to-Heads

Both sides have scored in the last four meetings between these sides. West Ham have won two and drawn two of their last four home matches against Crystal Palace but had not won any of their three previous home games against the South London side but they are unbeaten in eight games in total against the Eagles. There has only been one goalless draw in the last 14 games between the teams. Manuel Lanzini has enjoyed playing against Palace since his arrival at West Ham on loan in 2015. The Argentinian has featured against them five times, taken a hand in five goals with four scored and one assist, though he has only just returned from injury.
