West Ham News and Form – Will the Hammers beat Norwich for first home win?

West Ham earned a good 3-1 away win at Watford last weekend. They had taken just one point from their previous two games. They had started with a big home defeat against Man City before playing out a draw with Brighton. Last weekend summer signing Sebastien Haller opened his EPL account with a second-half brace against Watford. He looks like a great signing for West Ham and should deliver plenty of goals. So after their hammering at home by Man City, the Hammers are eyeing up their first home success.

West Ham posted a W9 D4 L6 record at home in last season’s Premier League campaign. Of their ten games at home against teams who finished in the bottom half of the table, West Ham won seven of those. West Ham lost Michail Antonio to a serious injury in midweek and could potentially be out for a few months. In midweek West Ham claimed a 2-0 win at Newport in the EFL Cup, making plenty of expected changes to their starting eleven.

West Ham’s last three games in the division at home have made it over 2.5 goals. Their three games played this season have done so as well, so there is a bit of a trend there. In their last twelve games against Norwich, West Ham have suffered just one defeat, so the stats are on their side for the weekend’s fixture. The Hammers have scored at least two goals in each of their three home games against the Canaries across all competitions.

Norwich News and Form – Can Norwich produce an away win at West Ham?

Premier League fixtures involving Norwich this season look as if they are going to continue to be great value for entertainment. In their three games played there has been a total of fourteen goals scored. The Canaries are at W1 L2 for the season, with their one success happening at home against Newcastle. Last weekend they suffered a 3-2 home loss against Norwich and they had opened the season with a 4-1 defeat at Anfield against Liverpool.

But Norwich are playing well and they have been scoring well, which is a positive for them. They have scored in all three of their league games, each of which have ended up going over 3.5 goals as well. So that’s a nice betting trend for this one. Top scorer for them is Teemu Pukki who has scored five of their six league goals this campaign. In midweek Norwich did suffer an EFL Cup exit at the hands of Crawley, the Canaries not at full strength and losing 1-0. That won’t have been a high priority game for them. Timm Klose suffered a bad injury in midweek.

They are a very attractive side to watch under Daniel Farke, but the way that they set themselves up, their defence is a big problem. Norwich look as if they are going to remain vulnerable at the back. In reality, they could have easily conceded another couple of goals against Chelsea last weekend. 75% of the goals that they have conceded so far have been in the first half of matches. If they could just get together a defensively solid first half it would be massive for them.
