West Ham v Stoke Betting Tips – Premier League 16th April 8.00pm

Stoke have lost their last four games and are heading towards the Championship. They are four points away from safety heading into the weekend and by the time Monday comes around, that could be worse. West Ham are six points clear of the relegation zone heading in the weekend, having collected a good point out at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea last time out. They will fancy their chances of improving their situation here.

West Ham News and Form

West Ham got themselves a good point at Chelsea last weekend and showed some good character, fight and belief in the end to get it. The Hammers have two victories in their last three on home soil (L1) and that is part of an overall record of W6 D4 L5 this season on home soil for them. West Ham have produced a W3 D2 L1 record in their last six home fixtures so it hasn’t been all that bad from them really. Their last two wins at home have been to nil and West Ham to win to nil at Coral is at 11/5 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 4:06 p.m. on April 10th, 2018) and a bit of a tempter. The Irons have averaged 1.3 goals per game on home soil in the top flight this term and have been leading at half time in just three of their games. A half-time draw at Coral wouldn’t be a bad punt. The Londoners have a six-point cushion between themselves and the drop zone heading into the weekend and avoiding defeat keeps them solid enough. West Ham have scored more goals than anyone else currently in the bottom seven (ahead of the weekend’s action) and given they are taking on Stoke who have the worst defensive in the league, it could be a good afternoon for the Irons.

Stoke News and Form

Things are starting to really look grim for the Potters now. They are struggling on a four-match losing streak and even if they were to collect three points on the road on the weekend, they would still be stuck in the bottom three. Granted the Potters have been through a tough sequence of games (Spurs, Man City and Arsenal in their last four) but they just aren’t even really looking close to coming up with solutions. You can look back beyond that and see that they haven’t won any of their last nine on the road and overall are winless in eleven league games home and away combined. They have scored in just two of their last seven road games and in the Coral correct score market a West Ham 1-0 is at 13/2 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 4:06 p.m. on April 10th, 2018). Looking at the fixture list that they have left, there are manageable and winnable games in which they can potentially pick up points. But whether they can produce the goods on the pitch to actually get them is a different ball game altogether. Stoke have twelve away goals all season and have conceded an average of 2.25 goals per away game. They could be sinking into further trouble on the weekend.

West Ham v Stoke Head to Head

Things are pretty even between these two from recent Premier League meetings. West Ham are unbeaten in three against Stoke after taking a 3-0 away win against them this season (W1 D2). The Irons are unbeaten in their last three on home soil against Stoke but all of those have ended in a draw. They have been five draws in the last seven Premier League meetings between the two with a win each in the other two in that sequence.

West Ham v Stoke Predictions

West Ham to win: The Potters have gone through a rough run of fixtures but that has knocked the wind out of them. West Ham have to seize this chance on home soil to collect three points and they probably will. Home win.
