This Grade 2 feature does look like being a wide-open contest though over the 3m trip.

We look at each of the 8 declared runners in our West Yorkshire Hurdle racing odds preview for Saturday.

Paisley Park 9/4 FAV in Wetherby West Yorkshire Hurdle Racing Odds

The popular PAISLEY PARK makes his return to action for the first time since a misfire at Aintree. But he’s likely to be a big player.

Paisley Park delivered a win in the Long Walk at Ascot earlier this year, before ending up in the places in the Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

That Aintree effort that he signed off last season in, was the Grade 1 Stayers’ Hurdle and the track didn’t suit him at all, so it can be excused.

He will have a lot to do on the weekend to get back to winning ways. He gives at least 6lb to each of the other runners on Saturday.

Paisley Park is the current 9/4 favourite in The West Yorkshire Hurdle odds* (odds recorded at 17:21 GMT on 29th October 2021 at William Hill).

INDEFATIGABLE
5/1

Thomas Darby rates a danger at Wetherby

Although at times his attitude doesn’t look to be on point, THOMAS DARBY has to rate as a danger on Saturday in horse racing betting.

He delivered a superb run when pushed up to a 3m effort in the Stayers’ Hurdle at Aintree.

There was an excellent third place for him there.

That form alone should give Thomas Darby leading claims for the weekend. He looks like a smart hurdler.

It showed that he can live at the very top level and the slight drop in trip further pulls him into the picture from a 7/2 quote* (odds recorded at 17:21 GMT on 29th October 2021 at William Hill).

Can Master Tommytucker return to form?

It’s been a while since MASTER TOMMYTUCKER was seen over the hurdles, but he can’t be counted out of this one.

He developed into a very good chaser last season, collecting three excellent victories in that sphere.

One of those was a Grade 2 success at Kempton.

Master Tommytucker, who still looks prone to the odd mistake with his jumping form, has won his two previous hurdles efforts.

If he is in the right mood then he can make his presence felt from 9/2* (odds recorded at 17:21 GMT on 29th October 2021 at William Hill).

Indefatigable could be the answer

5/1 shot INDEFATIGABLE is one to take notice of as she brings some match fitness to the table that the others don’t* (odds recorded at 17:21 GMT on 29th October 2021 at William Hill).

She had a win on the level 26 days ago, just her second effort on the flat.

So she is ready to roll and in form as well.

Last season Indefatigable ended the campaign on a high with a second-place finish in the Grade 2 Select Hurdle at Sandown.

The one question will be about her stamina to go the 3m but is unexposed when it comes to that. Indefatigable is no forlorn hope.

Run For Oscar seeks a hattrick

Clearly thriving at the moment is RUN FOR OSCAR who has found some brilliant form out of the blue.

Having been given an extra trip and the visor for the first time, Run For Oscar got himself off the mark in August at Killarney before following up at Listowel.

He is coming up in Grade for Saturday’s challenge.

Connections must trust him enough and each-way claims could be there.

Rest of the runners

ASK DILLON was in great shape last season and delivered a 3m success at Cheltenham on his final run. He’s had a reappearance when he was well held in a Chepstow Novice three weeks ago. A return to the hurdles gives him a chance.

PROSCHEMA won back to back handicaps at Chetla Nahm and AIntrea last season. This is a step up in competition for him but was a good fifth in the Silver Trophy at Chepstow three weeks ago.

SLATE HOUSE struggled in chasing last season. He needs a spark from somewhere and connections are hoping that the switch to the hurdles does it.

Predictions & Tips for Wetherby West Yorkshire Hurdle Racing Odds

INDEFATIGABLE as a 5/1 shot makes for a very interesting shortlist contender in horse racing betting* (odds recorded at 17:21 GMT on 29th October 2021 at William Hill).

She is fit and well-tuned up at the moment and went very well in a Grade 2 Hurdle at Sandown at the end of last season.

Given that PAISLEY PARK usually goes very well when fresh puts him back in this one.

He has a few questions to answer and gives weight to everyone else which won’t help his cause.

The other selection for the shortlist is THOMAS DARBY because if he turns up in the right frame of mind, then he has it in him to be a big player.
