Wigan Athletic News and Form – Can the Latics secure a third successive home win?

Wigan Athletic have been pretty solid at home this season, losing just one of their opening five at the DW Stadium in the Championship. Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United are the only team to have won on Wigan’s patch in league action.

Since that defeat to Leeds, Athletic have taken seven points from their last three home matches, beating Charlton Athletic and Birmingham City and drawing with Barnsley.

Nottingham Forest have arguably been the surprise package in the Championship so far. The Reds have won six, drawn four and lost one of their 11 fixtures. Sabri Lamouchi’s men have not lost in the league since being beaten 2-1 at home to West Bromwich Albion on the opening weekend.

Nottingham Forest win: Wigan have been hard to beat on home soil this season, and Cook’s troops will be gunning for a third consecutive home league win on Sunday. However, the Latics have not had the best of starts, as they languish in 19th place after 11 games played, just three points above the relegation zone.
