William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are expecting their third child, Kensington Palace has announced.
In a statement the palace said the Duchess was suffering from severe morning sickness, as she did with her previous pregnancies, forcing her to cancel public engagements. The news has probably broken earlier than the Royal family would have preferred but The Queen and members of the Duke and Duchess’ families are said to be delighted with the news. The impending arrival will be fifth in line to the throne, pushing uncle Prince Harry into sixth place, and bookmakers are already speculating whether it will be a boy or a girl – Paddy Power are offering 10/11 both options.
The Dublin-based bookmaker have also produced a market on the name of the Royal couple’s third baby, with Alice the early favourite at 10/1.
Paddy Power are well known for their social media presence but you can’t blame the Irish bookmaker for generating plenty of excitement about their markets and their products. Betting firms seem to think Duke and Duchess’ third baby will be a girl as Alexandra is among the next best in the early betting at 14/1, though shares those odds with Victoria, Arthur and Frederick.
