Sky Defender

Sky Defender has secured four previous wins from 7f to 1m 4f during his career. Two of those wins have been on the artificial. He comes into Wolvhermaton action with form, having won his last race

Sky Defender took a 2-length victory over Calling The Wind at Kempton at the 1m 4f distance. That added to a previous win at Lingfield earlier in the season and he hasn’t been outside of the top two in any of his last three trips.

So the claims for the Wolverhampton win are certainly there and he is the 11/8 favourite to get it* (betting odds taken at 22:56 GMT on Sunday, March 1st 2020)

Deal A Dollar

Like most of the entrants for this race, Deal A Dollar is a previous distance winner. He has been successful twice at the distance actually on the all-weather.

His last race was at the Kempton fixture which was won by Sky Defender last month.

Deal A Dollar was fourth of 7 in that race, almost three lengths behind the winner. Based on that he is going to have to find something extra to turn the tables.

Deal A Dollar is the 5/2 second-favourite* (betting odds taken at 22:56 GMT on Sunday, March 1st 2020).

Cosmeapolitan

The last run that Cosmeapolitan had was in November last year. That was a 1m 3f trip at Kempton in a class contest which was won by All Yours.

It was a fairly decent quality of field that he was up against and he put in a solid run for that 5th of 14.

Cosmeapolitan has taken a couple of wins on polytrack and he will have a tongue-tie for the first time on Monday. Prior to that Kempton 5th, he had been struggling for form.

Original Choice

On his last trip, Original Choice was 3rd of 7 at Chelmsford at 1m 6f. He has been in the top three in three of his last four runs now.

The last time that he was down at the 1m 4f distance he was last in a Lingfield trip in mid-January. But he is a distance winner and has claimed six races from 7f to 1m 4f in his career.

Kodiak Harbour

Running as the outsider in the field is Kodiak Harbour at 11/1* (betting odds taken at 22:56 GMT on Sunday, March 1st 2020).

The five-year-old was a beaten favourite on his last trip which was a 1m effort at Windsor back in June.

He has since switched stables and because of the long absence, he will be back as an unknown quantity.

Predictions & Tips

There doesn’t look to be a tremendous amount on offer in this Wolverhampton fixture for Monday. So we are going straight to the top for Sky Defender.

That 1m 4f success at Kempton in his last run was a step up in distance for him and he handled it easily. Given that he saw off Deal A Dollar in the contest, it only points to a similar result happening.
