Leading the lineup for this Wolverhampton trip is Mickey. He secured a course and distance win on his last run, which was last month when he took down Singing Sheriff by one length.

That is three wins that he has taken between 7f and 1m 1f. Two of those now have been on the all-weather.  Notably, International Law was in that race as well.

The Tom Dasccombe-trained Mickey should make a bold claim on Saturday. He’s up 4lb because of the C&D but still 2/1 favourite* (betting odds taken from Bet365 on Saturday, March 7th 2020 at 01:14 GMT).

Michele Strogoff

Trained by Michael Appleby, Michele Strogoff is a former course and distance winner as well. That came back in January 2019. Each of his last three wins have been at Wolverhampton so he enjoys the track.

His last run was at Lingfield at the end of January and he was fifth out of 7 in class 3. He’s not unfamiliar with the higher company, but he hasn’t won since that C&D last January and he has been well worked in between.

Michele Strogoff is a 3/1 option* (betting odds taken from Bet365 on Saturday, March 7th 2020 at 01:14 GMT).

My Target

There is a decent appeal in My Target in this race as well. He was last seen at Lingfield and he put in a good effort in finishing fourth of 7 at 13/2 and Michele Strogof was behind him.

So My Target wasn’t out of that one at all. At 5/1 there is something there and he can easily challenge for at least a place* (betting odds taken from Bet365 on Saturday, March 7th 2020 at 01:14 GMT).

Regular Income

Regular Income is another course and distance winner. He hasn’t been out since November last year when he was fifth by just two and a half lengths at Newmarket. That was in a 1m 2f trip.

Regular Income got his course and distance win in February last year. He won three times through to the middle of the year but has not gotten anything on the board for this season.

Rest of the runners

Tricorn was sixth of 10 on his last run which was at Redcar in June. The last win that Tricorn managed was a couple of years ago and is probably going to be outclassed.

Givinitsum hasn’t run since August last year and is an outsider for this fixture. His last run was over a 6f trip and he has not been successful beyond a distance of 7 before.

Sea Fox put in a disappointing run in his last outright. He finished 8th of 14 at Kempton in a shorter 1m trip. The six-year-old has won at course and distance before.

Predictions & Tips

We like the appeal that My Target has in taking on the favourite in this fixture. There is something there because he had a good showing at Lingfield in a good test of stamina.

There should rightly be good claims from Regular Income and Michele Strogoff to mix it up with favourite Mickey. But My Target gets the nod as our pick.
