Caustic Love

There is plenty to like about Caustic Love including the win that she took on her last trip. That was from a big 20/1 price at Newcastle last month. She has claimed four wins from 6f to 1m.

One of those was on the all-weather. Her form did tail off towards the end of last year, but does her commanding win at Newcastle mean that she is back in business? Caustic Love is the 2/1 favourite* (betting odds taken from bet365 at 20:39 on March 13th, 2020)

Dancing Rave
11/2

Pennywhistle

There has not been a run for Pennywhistle since early in August. She has since left Godolphin stables and is with Stuart Williams. Even though she looked as if she was improving she didn’t manage to get a victory throughout the year.

Will she benefit from Oisin Murphy taking the seat? She is, without question coming in fresh. Pennywhistle profile has left her as the 11/2 second-favourite for Saturday evening’s contest* (betting odds taken from bet365 at 20:39 on March 13th, 2020).

Second Collection

A third place at Chelmsford on a 6f trip was what Second Collection claimed on her last run. The four-year-old has claimed four wins at 6f and a couple of those have been on the all-weather.

Second Collection is definitely one that will enjoy going to the track. From her four previous visits, she has claimed two wins and two second-place finishes. That leaves her with interesting claims at 6/1 but is used to lower grade action* (betting odds taken from bet365 at 20:39 on March 13th, 2020).

Dancing Rave

Dancing Rave is a course and distance winner but is the lowest-rated horse in this field. She won by a neck at 15/2 in her course and distance success at 15/2 earlier this month. That added to her win at Lingfield earlier in the season. She looked to have plenty to spare as well in the recent C&D and has to be respected at 11/2* (betting odds taken from bet365 at 20:39 on March 13th, 2020)

The rest of the runners

Lorton has been successful a couple of times 6f but really wasn’t in the frame on her last run. She was Newcastle last and was fourth of eight in a 7f trip. She’s going to have to find some.

Starlight Romance is a former distance winner. She will have cheekpieces for the first time. She did pick up a 7f win at Kempton in January. Her last two races, second and fifth, were at 1m, so may be happy back at the 7f.

Adelante claimed a win at Wolverhampton at course and distance in April last year. Since then she really hasn’t quite hit the mark in the UK having taken an 8th at Goodwood and a 5th at Kempton since. Maybe a return to Wolverhampton will spark her back into form.

Predictions & Tips

It is all Dancing Rave for us who has improved massively. Her recent course success certainly puts her in the frame and even though she is going up against higher quality opposition, she may be able to make an impact.

Second Collection, because she likes a trip at Wolverhampton also comes nicely into the picture as an option for the evening racing action.
