Wolves are absolutely rolling at the moment in the Premier League. Over the weekend they banked their third straight win since their return to action.

On Saturday they edged past the relegation-threatened Aston Villa to climb to within two points of the top four.

Big target in sight for Wolves

So suddenly Wolves have a bigger target than just playing for fifth in the table. Could they lock down a top-four place?

Currently sitting in third place is Leicester who are just three points ahead of Wolves, while Chelsea are fourth, two points ahead of them.

Wolves, however, have played a game more than anyone else in the picture.

Nuno’s men are currently a 4/1 shot to make it to a top-four finish* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 00:55 GMT on Sunday, 27th June 2020).

Premier League Top 4 Finish odds

Chelsea 1/4
Leicester 8/15
Man Utd 5/4
Wolves 4/1
Spurs 33/1
Arsenal 150/1

5th place enough?

There is a very good chance that 5th place in this season’s Premier League would be enough to get to the Champions League for the next campaign.

That is because of Manchester City’s ban from the competition for two seasons, which opens up another place.

City are still set to appeal the ban, so nothing is guaranteed on that front right now.

As it stands, Wolves do seem to be well in the mix for a run at the top five and they can be backed currently at 11/8 to get thatt* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 00:55 GMT on Sunday, 27th June 2020).

Premier League Top 5 Finish Odds

Chelsea 1/16
Man Utd 4/11
Wolves 11/8
Spurs 8/1
Arsenal 40/1

But Wolves are in great form, having won five of their last six top-flight games. So not even the interrupted season has slowed their progress.

Their three wins since the end of lockdown were all with a clean sheet as well against West Ham, Bournemouth and Aston Villa.

Naturally, there are going to be tougher challenges for Nuno’s men to come down the line.

But it has been seven clean sheets in their last eight games now and in that run, they faced three of the other current top-seven.

Wolves v Arsenal Odds – 4th July 2020

Wolves 6/5, Draw 12/5, Arsenal 11/5

Decent run-in for Wolves

The remaining games for Wolves isn’t that bad. They face Arsenal, Everton and Crystal Palace at home.

Out on the road they go to Sheffield United, Burnley and then right at the end of the campaign they go to Chelsea.

Could that be a decider for fourth place?

That would be a fascinating concussion to the season for both clubs.

Last season Wolves secured a seventh-place finish in the Premier League, nine points outside of the top six.

Are they set to improve on that and potentially find themselves in the Champions League next season?
