Wolves News and Form

EPL side Wolves have been out in Asia preseason taking wins over Newcastle and Manchester City. They faced City on the weekend and won a penalty shootout. Wolves only sent out a youthful side for the game. Not much has been happening in the summer transfer window from Wolves. They have seen Helder Costa go to Leeds while bringing back Ivan Cavaleiro from loan to Fulham. This is going to be a big occasion for Wolves, who find themselves in Europe for the first time since the 1980/81 UEFA Cup first round.

Their overall record in the UEFA Cup/Europa League is P20 W13 D3 L4. But again, there is no recent form in among all of that. Each of the last five European campaigns that Wolves have played have been in the UEFACup/Europa League. They are strong favourites to make the most of home advantage in the first leg of this second qualifying round tie.

  • Crusaders have won one of their last eight European away games
  • The Crusaders have lost six of their last ten European games

Crusaders News and Form

Crusaders entered at the first qualifying round of this season’s Europa League. The Northern Irish side banked a 5-2 aggregate win over B36 from the Faroe Islands in the previous round. It was a 2-0 win that they had recorded in the first leg and then had a bit of a nervous time closing out the deal away from home. They won the second leg 3-2 but that was only after having been pegged back to 2-2 at one point after having been 2-0 ahead.

Crusaders have been in European Qualification in every season since the start of the 2009/10 season inclusive. None of those campaigns saw the Crusaders get to the third qualifying round of any of those. They are W3 D1 L6 in their last ten European fixtures. They were on a poor seven-match winless streak in Europe before their win at B36 in the last round (D2 L5). Crusaders have conceded at least two goals in five of their last six European road fixtures.

Wolves v Crusaders Predictions

Wolves to win: This should be comfortable and comprehensive for Wolves in this fixture. There is a good chance for them to put a big enough scoreline on the board that they can rest players for the second leg. Wolves are not likely to concede in their victory.
