Wolves v Shrewsbury Preview

Wolves were almost down and out in this FA Cup tie at New Meadow until Matt Doherty produced a stoppage-time equaliser. Wolves did dominate the game though it has to be said and comfortably so. They are in some good form at the moment as well as they are unbeaten in their last four games played. They have taken back to back Premier League wins over West Ham and Everton (scoring three goals in each) since their draw with Shrewsbury in this FA Cup tie. The last time that these two met at Molineux was in the 2013/14 League One season with a 0-0 draw being played out. Wolves lead the overall head to head between the W4 D4 L3. They are currently on a three-match winning streak at home at the moment, scoring nine goals in that sequence. The first of those wins was an upset over Liverpool in the third round of this season’s FA Cup.

Key-Facts – Wolves v Shrewsbury

  • Wolves knocked out liverpool at home in the last round
  • Shrewsbury have won one of their last ten games
  • This is Shrewsbury’s seventh game in this season’s FA Cup

The Shrews gave a really good account of themselves at home against their Premier League opponents in this tie. Can they still pull off the upset though? They haven’t been in winning touch at all, their third round away win at Stoke is their only victory in their last ten games across all competitions (D5 L4). Away from home, it has been their only success in their last seven. But they have scored all but one of their last nine away games. It has been a long path for the Shrews to get to his point as this is going to their seventh FA Cup game so far this season, having needed replays against Salford in the first round and then Stoke in the third. Can they shake off their poor away form and pull off what would be a pretty massive upset? Wolves v Shrewsbury Predictions

Wolves to win: Wolves look to be in a confident mood at the moment with things going well for them. They should have the quality to be able to ease past the Shrews in this one. We are going to back the home side to win to nil at 4/6 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 2nd, 2019 at 9:12 p.m.)
