Wolves News and Form

Wolves have suffered just the one defeat on their return to the top flight, so they have been doing well. They have played some good stuff and are W2 D2 in their last four games. They earned a great point in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last weekend against Manchester United and were great value for it. Really the only thing that is missing from their game is more goals. Just once this season have they managed more than one goal in a league game. That was on the opening weekend of the season.

Wolves have scored exactly one goal in each of their last four games and a Wolves 1-0 correct score is at 11/2 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from September 24th, 2018 at 11:24 p.m.). Against at Southampton side who aren’t looking a big threat, this should be a good opportunity for more points for Wolves. They are W1 D2 at home so far, beating Burnley and holding Everton and Manchester City to draws. Raul Jimenez has scored both of his goals this season on home soil and is the leading option in the anytime goalscorer market for them. Five of the six league goals that Wolves have come up with this season have been in the second half of games.

Southampton News and Form

Southampton have just one win under their belt this season, which was earned at Crystal Palace back at the start of September. Last weekend they went to Anfield to face Liverpool and lost 3-0. There’s no embarrassment in that, but the Saints struggled to get any ball and cause any kind of a threat. It leaves them W1 L2 for the season away from St Mary’s and their loss at Anfield snapped a four-match scoring streak that they were on, which was a pretty decent return for them as they don’t look staked with a lot of goalscoring power.

We are going to go with both teams not to score for our Wolves v Southampton predictions at 3/4 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from September 24th, 2018 at 11:24 p.m.). That is because the Saints are facing a good Wolves side in this one. The Saints have only claimed the two wins in their last ten road games in the Premier League (D3 L5) so they can’t exactly be trusted out on their travels. As a boost, they do get top scorer Danny Ings back after missing last weekend’s game at Liverpool against his parent club.

Wolves v Southampton Head to Head

Wolves beat Southampton in the EFL Cup last season and that made it three wins a row for Wolves against the Saints. They are undefeated in their last five games against them in all competitions. This will be the first league meeting between the two clubs since the 2008/09 Championship season.

Wolves v Southampton Predictions

Wolves to win: We can only look at the home win in this one because Southampton just are not managing themselves well in games and Wolves have played with enough craft and quality to pick them off. Home win.
