Rollins can rule the roost in 2019 Royal Rumble

Novelty Betting & Other Events Betting

SETH ROLLINS is only a best Evens to win the 2019 Men’s Royal Rumble but looks a deserving favourite.

Last year was a definitive one for the Iowa native, real name Colby Lopez, as he became the twenty-ninth Triple Crown Champion and the eighteenth Grand Slam Champion in WWE history. But we still don’t know, definitively, who will be fighting at Royal Rumble, though rumours abound.

Drew McIntyre (a general 9/1) is getting closer and closer to the top of the WWE tree. The Scot clearly has friends in high places as he’s headlined several RAW nights over the last 12 months and is apparently being groomed for a Universal Championship match at Wrestlemania 35 – he would be an even bigger box office draw if he went into that fight as Royal Rumble champion.

Braun Strowman is only a best 3/1 for Royal Rumble 2019 but it looks as though ‘The Monster Among Men’ still hasn’t fully recovered from a recent injury and there is the small matter of him being removed from the Universal Championship match by Mr McMahon having trashed the main man’s limo during his ongoing feud with Baron Corbin. There again, nothing is written in stone when it comes to the WWE!

So what about John Cena winning Royal Rumble aged 41? Betway have the veteran at a best 10/1 to roll back the years in the 30-strong main event in Phoenix, Arizona this coming weekend but he limped out of Monday Night RAW this week with his left ankle strapped. The 16-times world champion is, of course, already a two-times Royal Rumble winner but his participation this year may be now in doubt.

The match-up of the night may well be Daniel Bryan’s defence of  his WWE Championship against the former title holder AJ Styles, from whom he captured the belt following an opportunistic and controversial low blow in November – this is definitely a grudge match with bells attached. Bryan (100/1 with Betway) has adopted a much more aggressive approach to his fights lately but the agility of Styles (a best 50/1) is legendary and he’ll be much more wary of his opponent’s tactics this time.

Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship decider against Finn Balor (a best 25/1) should also provide plenty of big hits and no little drama. The Irishman has made a good career for himself within WWE but his lack of stature, compared to the big boys, may always hold him up in big pay-per-view events like Royal Rumble.
