It was not the worst draw that England could have gotten for themselves for sure in the draw. The Three Lions will be expected to get past the challenges of Tunisia and Panama and then the group decider would be against the Belgians in the last round of matches. This is in Group H action where England are 6/5 second favourites to top it, with Belgium at 5/6 odds-on* (betting odds taken on March 17th at 1:30 a.m.).

It really should not be too tough of a task ahead for the Three Lions at Russia 2018 in the first stage. England have faced Tunisia once before at World Cup 1988 and England won that game 2-0 thanks to goals from Alan Shearer and Paul Scholes. That is around the most plausible stage for the Three Lions. If they win their group they would go to the top half of the draw to meet the runner-up of Group H (Poland, Senegal, Colombia, Japan) or if they finish runner-up, they go to the bottom half of the draw and face the winner of Group H. Either way there should be manageable round of sixteen tie for them.

There is little surprise as to who England’s hotshot at the World Cup 2018 is expected to be. That will be Harry Kane, who has a tremendous amount of responsibility on his shoulders to carry the expectations of the country. He has the class though. The other strikers likely to go, barring injury, of course, will be Marcus Rashford, Jamie Vardy and maybe Danny Welbeck. It’s hard to imagine any of them would be out Kane in a scoring race.

England are going to come up against a tough challenge at some point of the tournament obviously the first big test for them will be that game against Belgium, who are one of the strong contenders beyond the leading pack. But the expectations on the Three Lions should really be a quarter-final berth.
