Altrincham to add to Halifax woes

National League Tips

ALTRINCHAM v HALIFAX TOWN

Tuesday 7th October 2015 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

Altrincham registered a second consecutive win in the National League on Saturday when they took all three points against Barrow in a 1-0 home win at the J. Davidson Stadium, and it’s the same venue in tonight’s clash with struggling Halifax Town on Tuesday night.

Not that Altrincham are flying high in the top tier of the non-league elite by any means as they currently sit in 19th place in the National League but they’ve lost just once in their last five matches with recent wins over Boreham Wood and Barrow who are both in the bottom half of the division.

Altrincham’s home record stands at  4-1-2  8/9 but they’ve actually lost just once in their last six on home turf (0-4 v Braintree Town), but they’ve also recorded impressive wins over the likes of Tranmere Rovers and Cheltenham Town who currently sit third and second in the league respectively.

Visitors Halifax Town are a shadow of their former selfs as they currently occupy second from bottom in the National League which comes as a major surprise as the Yorkshire club have previously posted finishes of 9th and 5th in their two campaigns upon their return to the non-league top flight.

Results have not gone The Shaymen’s way though this campaign, and if you were under any illusions as to their form at The Shay where they’ve traditionally been very hard to beat in previous campaigns, then these would have been well and truly shattered by a 7-1 thrashing at the hands of Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

They now face a tricky trip to Altrincham on Tuesday night not least because Halifax have lost all six of their away matches so far on the road with a poor record of  0-0-6  5/14 with only Barrow and Torquay United conceding more than them so far.

Halifax have kept just one clean sheet in their last 13 away matches.

With this in mind, I’ll give the quarter-ball on the hosts Altrincham who could nick the points in perhaps a 1-0 win here.
