Relegation-threatened Boreham Wood will face a tough test tonight when they take on an in-form Lincoln City despite holding home advantage at their Meadow Park ground, with both teams chasing an important three points.
Boreham Wood find themselves just above the bottom four in the National League, just one league position and two points ahead of Southport, but mixed results of late for the Hertfordshire outfit have resulted in them remaining in the lower reaches of the division.
A 2-1 win over Bromley away from home hasn’t been enough to offset defeats to Gateshead and Altrincham, along with a couple of draws against Guiseley and Chester, while their overall home record stands at a disappointing 2-2-7 11/15 as they’ve managed just one league win on home turf in their last ten matches.
Visitors Lincoln City on the other hand, are firing on all cylinders by comparison as they’ve sneaked into the play-off pack on the back of three National League wins on the trot with wins over Aldershot Town, Tranmere Rovers and Torquay United.
In fact, Lincoln have won four of their last five overall, while their away form has also been strong in the past month or so as they’ve racked up five wins from their last six matches on the road amidst an overall away record of 6-1-4 17/14.
The Imps are also capable of scoring goals too, and with the likes of Rhead and Hearn up front, they could cause Boreham Wood plenty of problems in the final third this evening.
