My next few picks will be centred around some of the european lower leagues, starting with the German Bundesliga 2 with hosts and current league leaders Eintracht Braunschweig taking on struggling Kaiserslautern at their Eintracht-Stadion on Monday night.
Braunschweig have taken an early lead at the top of the German second tier as they’ve been in explosive form on home turf so far this season with a 100% record and overall record of 4-0-0 12/4 under their belts going into this encounter.
Braunschweig have lost just once so far this season and that was a 2-0 defeat away at Stuttgart, but four home wins on the trot over Wurzburger Kickers, Nurnberg, Sandhausen and Fortuna Dusseldorf have placed them in a strong position to take all three points this evening.
Visitors Kaiserslautern find themselves in early relegation trouble following just one win so far in this new campaign, that being a 3-0 home win over mid-table Dynamo Dresden, but their overall form has been found wanting so far this season.
Just one win from their opening eight matches of the new Bundesliga 2 season tells its own story, while away from home, Kaiserslautern have lost their last two matches on the trot as they’ve fallen to defeats at Sandhausen and Heidenheim in 2-0 and 3-0 losses respectively.
They have taken a point at Wurzburger Kickers, but with an overall away record to date of 0-1-2 1/6, the odds seem fairly stacked against them getting anything out of Braunschweig here this evening.
