Cambridge to win with goals

League One/Two Tips

CAMBRIDGE UNITED v LUTON TOWN

Saturday 5th September 2015 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Football – England – League Two Betting Tips

Cambridge United earned a point at Underhill last weekend in a 0-0 draw away at Barnet as Cambridge United have made a solid start to the new season.

The U’s have lost just once so far in the first few weeks of the new campaign which was a slightly unexpected 3-0 defeat at home to Crawley Town but aside from that, Cambridge have registered wins over Newport County 3-0 at home and a 2-1 win away at AFC Wimbledon.

Cambridge’s home record is still in it’s infancy but stands at  1-0-1  3/3 but they’ll be eyeing off three points this afternoon when they take on early strugglers Luton Town at the Abbey Stadium. U’s striker Barry Corr (5 goals) looks the likeliest anytime goalscorer for the hosts today.

Visitors Luton Town make the trip to Cambridge looking to avoid a fourth consecutive loss in League Two following defeats against Bristol Rovers, Yeovil Town and Portsmouth in recent weeks.  The Hatters had previously been involved in stalemates against Accrington Stanley and Oxford United in 1-1 and 2-2 draws respectively.

John Still’s side were expected to kick on this term following a season of consolidation upon their return to the football league having spent a few seasons of non-league oblivion, but things haven’t turned out that way so far this season for them.

Luton’s away record stands at  0-1-1  3/4 with a defeat at Yeovil Town and a draw at Accrington Stanley. But historically, Luton have not fared well on their travels in League Two as they’ve won just once in their last 13 away trips, that solitary win being a 1-0 win at relegated Tranmere Rovers.

Given Luton’s poor record on the road in this division, I fancy the hosts Cambridge United to take the points here in what could be a 2-1 win as the Over 1.5 looks attractive also.
