Stadion Juliska is the venue of my next pick in the Czech Republic Synot Liga on Friday night as hosts Dukla Prague look to lift themselves up into the top half of the division by taking all three points against a struggling Sigma Olomouc outfit.
Just one win from their last eight in the Czech Republic top flight however has held Dukla Prague back from making a real challenge upon the top half of the Synot Liga, while their home record stands at a so-so 6-2-5 23/12 with inconsistency being their main problem this season.
Despite defeat last time out on home turf to second placed Sparta Prague, Dukla did register a crushing a 6-1 home win over 7th placed Jablonec the game beforehand which will give them confidence here this evening against a much weaker Sigma side.
Onto Sigma Olomouc and they sit second from bottom in the Synot Liga despite last weekend’s 2-1 home win over the aforementioned Jablonec, who also managed to lose away to the second from bottom side!
But just two league wins from their last twelve matches has meant that Sigma enter the last two matches of the Czech Republic season sitting in the relegation places, with a pending visit to Prague in the wings on the back of a poor away record.
Sigma’s overall away record stands at 1-3-9 8/27 and they’ve now gone seven matches on the road without a win, having lost six of these. In addition, Sigma have failed to score in 7 of their 13 away matches to date so far, and this could really hold them back again here this evening.
I recommend backing the hosts with the round ball for extra insurance.
