It’s still only early days, but bottom club Falkenberg are gearing themselves up for what could be a long and arduous Swedish Allsvenskan campaign as they are yet to record a point in the new domestic season having lost their opening four games of the new term.
Defeats to Gothenborg, Djurgarden, Ostersunds and Helsingborg were bad enough, but to have conceded a total of 12 goals already (and scoring just 2 in reply), the alarm bells are already starting up with a visit from second placed Norrkoping pending this evening.
Falkenberg have in fact lost their last six Allsvenskan matches on the trot which is carried over from last season and have won just once from their last ten matches overall. At their Falkenbergs IP ground, they’ve lost their last three matches on the trot , and in their last encounter against Norrkoping on home turf, they lost 1-0.
Onto Norrkoping then, and as mentioned they sit in second spot level on points with leaders Djurgarden but they have a great chance of taking over at the top of the table tonight against the lacklustre Falkenberg.
Norrkoping have won three of their opening four matches of the season with wins registered over Kalmar, Hacken and AIK who all currently reside in the bottom half of the Allsvenskan league table, and they’ll be looking to record a fourth consecutive win at Falkenberg tonight I daresay.
Forwards Nyman and Andersson look the most likely anytime goalscorers for the visitors this evening as they look to secure another three points.
