GATESHEAD v TORQUAY UNITED

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

Gateshead go into Saturday afternoon’s clash with Torquay United on the back of three National League matches without a win, but given the visitors’ poor away record so far this season, the hosts will be confident of turning their form around here.

Defeats to North Ferriby and Aldershot Town have book-ended a disappointing 0-0 draw with new-boys Solihull Moors but generally speaking, Gateshead’s form at their Gateshead International Stadium has been pretty solid so far this season.

A home record of  3-2-1  11/3 includes wins over Chester, York City and Sutton United and they’ve also managed three clean sheets on home turf so far this term too which will give them confidence ahead of today’s clash.

Visitors Torquay United have found it difficult to adjust to life on the non-league circuit since their relegation from the Football League, and they have continued to struggle again this season as they currently occupy a disappointing 16th place in the National League so far this term.

Three home wins from their six matches played at Plainmoor have prevented them from slipping down into the nether regions of the division, but their away form needs to improve dramatically if they’re to lift themselves up into at least a top half position.

Torquay have managed just one win away from home to show for their troubles so far on the road amidst an overall poor record of  1-0-5  4/11 and that was at third from bottom Braintree Town, and six defeats from their last seven matches overall underlines Torquay’s struggles again this season.
