Gateshead looking for easy win

National League Tips

GATESHEAD v WELLING UNITED

Saturday 19th September 2015 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

Gateshead will be looking to post a third successive league win in the National League this afternoon following back-to-back wins over Eastleigh (away from home) and their valuable midweek home win over Wrexham.

Gateshead have won seven of their ten league matches to date and this impressive start to the new season has lifted them up into second place in the early league standings but they’ll be keen to rack up another three points here to keep up the pace with leaders Forest Green Rovers who hold a five-point margin over the north-east club.

Gateshead’s home record reads  3-1-1  8/7 having posted wins over Boredom Wood, Lincoln City and Wrexham and with the likes of forwards Bowman (7 goals), Johnson (3 goals) and Shaw up front, they could well cause havoc again this afternoon.

Visitors Welling United sit fourth from bottom and occupy one of the early relegation places thanks to just one league win to date from their first ten matches of the new campaign. This win was an opening day 1-0 victory over newcomers Guiseley, but since then, The Wings have gone nine matches without a win and have lost six of these subsequent nine matches.

Welling’s overall away record stands at a very poor  0-0-5  1/7 as they’ve crashed to five away defeats on the trot with losses at Forest Green Rovers, Macclesfield Town, Wrexham, Woking and Aldershot Town.

But historically, Welling have struggled on their travels in this division as they’ve registered just one win from their last 15 on the road, while keeping just one clean sheet during this sequence!

This therefore should be a straight-forward home win for the ‘Heed and I’ll back them for the points in perhaps a 2-1 win.
