Grimsby to win as goals flow

National League Tips

GRIMSBY TOWN v WELLING UNITED

Saturday 14th November 2015 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

Grimsby Town maintained their challenge for at least a play-off berth with a midweek 3-1 win away at Barrow which has lifted The Mariners up into fifth spot and within seven points of the National League leaders Cheltenham Town.

Grimsby have suffered just one defeat from their last 13 matches overall in the non-league top flight and that was a 1-0 defeat at home to the aforementioned Cheltenham Town who have emerged as one of the front-runners for automatic promotion back to League Two.

Grimsby Town’s overall home record is a pretty solid one which stands at  5-3-2  25/11 and they are also the league’s highest goalscorer at home so far this season with six of their ten matches at Blundell Park going over the 2.5 goals mark. Forwards Amond and Bogle have struck 22 goals between them so far this term.

Visitors Welling United currently sit in 18th place in the non-league top flight having earned just one win from their last six matches, that being a 2-1 home win over Lincoln City in mid-October. However, recent defeats to Bromley, Boreham Wood and Guiseley have resulted in The Wings remaining in the bottom half of the division.

Welling’s results on the road perked up a bit recently as they grabbed the maximum points at Gateshead and Kidderminster in 2-1 and 1-0 wins respectively, but they’ve since returned to type as they’ve lost two of their last three amidst an overall away record of  2-1-7  5/13.

But goals have been at a premium for the visitors as they’ve drawn a blank on no fewer than six occasions already, and could face another uphill battle this afternoon.

I’ll back Grimsby to win and over 2.5 goals as Welling have kept just one clean sheet from their last 13 away matches.
