Hacken will be looking to return to winning ways when they host Orebro at their Rambergsvallen ground on Sunday evening following defeat last time out.
Hacken suffered a narrow 0-1 loss away at Gefle last Saturday but they have a good opportunity to bounce back here tonight and take all three points which would keep them in the hunt for a Europa League spot for next season. Prior to the Gefle defeat they had secured a good win over second placed Kalmar at home 4-1 along with draws against Falkenberg and IFK Gothenborg, and they do hold a good record on home ground.
Six matches unbeaten have pushed them within touching distance of the teams at the top of the Allsvenskan and this impressive run includes wins over Norrkoping, Halmstad, Brommapojkarna and of course Kalmar, with an overall record of 4-2-0 15/5. In fact, they’ve been beaten just once in their last eleven matches at home.
Onto visitors Orebro now, and they’re without a league win in their last seven and have won just once in their last eleven Allsvenskan matches (a 3-2 home win over mid-table Atvidaberg back in April).
They sit just below mid-table but this is thanks to a reasonable home record where they’ve lost just twice so far this term, while their performances on their travels have yielded just one away win on the road from their opening six matches – an overall record of 1-2-3 6/9. Orebro have also lost their last three away matches on the trot at Kalmar, Gothenborg and Elfsborg and a trip to Hacken who are chasing the leading pack may also provide difficulties.
It’s interesting to note that Hacken’s home record over bottom half teams reads 3-0-0 8/1 while Orebro’s away record at top half teams reads a poor 0-1-3 2/6.
Despite losing last time out, I believe Hacken can secure all three points here tonight in what could be a 2-1 win for the hosts – look out for El Kabir or Gustafsson as anytime goalscorers for BK Hacken.
