The second of my Italian Serie A picks for this weekend features a top half clash between fourth placed Inter Milan and seventh placed Bologna at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza with the hosts looking to record a fourth consecutive Serie A victory.
Inter have previously registered wins over Pescara, Juventus and Empoli and they will be brimming with confidence ahead of the visit of Bologna particularly given that recent result against the current Serie A title holders Juventus.
Inter’s early home record stands at 1-1-0 3/2 but they can add to their win tally here this afternoon especially when you consider they’re unbeaten in their last five on home turf, having won four of these games. Watch out for striker Icardi (6 goals) who should be considered a potential anytime goalscorer for the hosts.
Visitors Bologna have made a good start to their new Serie A campaign as they sit in seventh spot in the domestic top flight having registered wins against Crotone, Cagliari and Sampdoria – however, these wins should be taken with a grain of salt as they’ve all been registered at their Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
It’s been a very different story away from home though for Bologna who have lost both of their matches on the road at Torino 5-1 and Napoli 3-1 in heavy defeats, and they are expected to be up against it again this afternoon at Inter Milan.
In addition, it’s nine away matches without a win for Bologna and they lost 2-1 last time out away at Inter Milan last March, and we could see a similar scoreline unfold here today.
