LINCOLN v NUNEATON – Pick: 1 – 09 December 2014

Imps look for three in a row

National League Tips

Football – England – Conference Premier

Tuesday 9th December 2014 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Lincoln City go into tonight’s encounter in search of a third Conference win on the trot when they entertain struggling Nuneaton Town at Sincil Bank.

Lincoln have registered back-to-back league wins over Dartford and Southport (both by 1-0 margins and both on home turf) which has kept The Imps away from the bottom four and in fact, are ten points clear of Dartford who are currently occupying fourth from bottom in the division.

The Imps are on a pretty solid run of form of late as they’ve lost just once in their last eight league matches (a 1-2 defeat to Altrincham) but they’ve recently held the likes of Forest Green Rovers and Gateshead to draws and beaten AFC Telford also at Sincil Bank. Their overall home record stands at  6-3-3  18/14 and they’ve won three of their last five.

Visitors Nuneaton Town were dealt another blow on the weekend in their bid to avoid relegation when they suffered a 0-1 defeat to fellow strugglers Altrincham. Nuneaton have now lost seven of their last nine and now sit second from bottom in the Conference and five points adrift of Southport in the safety position of 20th.

Only a 3-2 home win over Chester has alleviated Nuneaton’s woes lately but a trip away to Lincoln could spell further trouble for Liam Daish’s side who have lost their last eleven away matches on the trot. The midlands’ outfit away record stands at an awful  0-1-11  4/27 and they’ve failed to score in eight of their twelve matches on the road to date.

As mentioned then, Lincoln have been pretty steady recently and with home advantage behind them here, I’ll back the hosts to record perhaps another 1-0 win at Sincil Bank.
