MALAGA v DEPORTIVO – Pick: 1 – 26 April 2015

Malaga to edge out goal-shy Deportivo

International Football Tips

Football – Spain – La Liga

Sunday 26th April 2015 – Kickoff: 1200hrs

High noon in Malaga sees the hosts face off against lowly Deportivo La Coruna as they look to bounce back from some average results and maintain their top half position in La Liga.

Malaga have gone five matches without a win with defeats to Rayo Vallecano, Eibar and Real Madrid although all three of these defeats were inflicted upon them away from home, while they’ve also held Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid to 1-1 and 2-2 draws respectively in recent weeks on home turf.

Malaga’s home record stands at  8-5-3  22/14 and they’ve lost just once in their last seven, which was a defeat to Espanyol, but they’ve recently gained valuable wins over Valencia, Getafe and Cordoba.

Deportivo La Coruna have slipped into the bottom three of La Liga following a 2-1 loss at home to Atletico Madrid at the weekend, which now makes it a total of ten matches without a win in the Spanish top flight, and relegation is now a very real prospect.

Deportivo’s overall away record stands at a disappointing  2-5-8  9/22 and they’ve lost three of their last five on the road with defeats at Real Madrid, Valencia and Getafe, whilst picking up points at Almeria and Real Sociedad.

But scoring goals on their travels has been a problem for them all season as they’ve failed to hit the back of the net on a total of eight occasions so far this term.

With Deportivo’s struggle to score goals away from home, the edge is with the hosts Malaga to take all three points which I think they will do in a low-scoring 1-0 win here.
