The Aker Stadion is the venue of my next pick in the Norwegian Tippeligaen with home side Molde looking to break a run of four matches without a league win when they entertain Sarpsborg on Saturday evening.
Molde have lost three of their last four in the Norwegian top flight with defeats against Rosenborg, Viking and Sogndal along with gaining just one point against bottom club Start at home in a 2-2 draw last weekend.
However, two of these three recent defeats were inflicted on them away from home, while on home turf, Molde have lost just once all season to date amidst an overall record of 5-2-1 18/8 and failing to score on just one occasion. Look for Molde to provide a particular aerial threat from free-kicks and corners here.
Visitors Sarpsborg will head into this evening’s encounter against Molde in a reasonably confident mood having registered three wins from their last five in the Tippeligaen which includes wins over Tromso, Brann and Lillestrom.
Two of these wins though have been at their Sarpsborg Stadion while away from home, they’ve struggled to put any sort of decent run together on their travels so far this season; an away record of 3-1-4 10/18 includes three defeats from their last four on the road with defeats at Valerenga, Stromsgodset and Rosenborg.
Sarpsborg’s record away at top half opposition reads 1-1-2 4/9 and have kept just two clean sheets along with failing to score on four occasions so far.
