Tonight’s hosts Novara will be looking to extend their unbeaten run on home soil this evening when they take on Bari at their Stadio Comunale Silvio Piola in the Italian second tier and a win this evening could lift the home side up into the top half of the division.
Novara currently occupy 15th place in the Italian Serie B despite remaining unbeaten on home turf this season, whilst it’s been their away form that has really let them down as they’ve lost all five of their away matches to date.
But in their own backyard they hold a solid record of 3-2-0 7/4 having registered wins against Salernitana, Ascoli and Avellino while also gaining points against Trapani and Latina. In addition, they’ve suffered just one defeat from their last 11 home matches and have kept three clean sheets so far this term.
Visitors Bari recently ended a run of five league matches without a win when they recorded a much needed three points in a 3-0 home win over Trapani on the weekend at their Stadio Comunale San Nicola which lifted them up into 11th place in the Italian Serie B league ladder.
Away from home, they come into this encounter on the back of four matches without a win following their opening away 1-0 win at Perugia as they’ve since failed to make the same sort of impact on their travels.
They were on the end of a 3-1 loss at Frosinone last time out on the road, while their overall away record stands at 1-3-1 3/4 this season. They’ll be looking to repeat their 2-1 win last time they were here back in March, but I fancy the hosts to at least avoid defeat in this one.
