Football – Sweden – Superettan

Thursday 29th August 2013 – Kickoff:  1900hrs

Superettan league leaders Orebro play host to third placed Falkenberg in the pick of the division’s midweek fixtures and depending on the GIF Sundsvall result, they could well wrest the leadership at the top off their second placed rivals with a win here tonight.

Either way, Orebro have had a great season so far as they’ve remained unbeaten at home this season and they’ve conceded just 3 goals all season at their Behrn Arena where they have a formidable home record of  9-1-0  20/3 having kept a total of seven clean sheets. Only mid-table Hammarby have taken a point off them in their own backyard in a 1-1 draw, but I sense more goals here tonight.

Orebro have not failed to score a league goal at home in their last fifteen matches so they look a good bet to score again at least once tonight; forwards Holmberg (7 goals) and Hasani (6 goals) along with goals from midfielders Yasin (4 goals) and Saied (3 goals) provide Orebro with plenty of firepower going forward.

Visitors Falkenberg are no slouches either though and they possess the second best away record in the Superettan behind only to Sundsvall. An overall away record of  6-2-2  22/11 also shows them to be the highest goalscorers away from home in the division and they’ve failed to score just once in their last thirteen on their travels.

In addition, Falkenberg have scored a total of 14 away goals in their last five including hitting Varberg and Angelholm both for four, three at Hammarby and two at Ostersunds. Goals could potentially come from any area of their team with defender Wede chipping in with 3 goals, midfielders Skold (13 goals), Svahn (5 goals) and Keat (4 goals) let alone forwards Rodevag (7 goals) and Frick (3 goals).

I guess you could either back the Over 2.5 goals or Both teams to score here, but despite Orebro’s usually tight defence, I’ll back Falkenberg to find a way through and bet on both sides to register in this one. Could be a 1-1 draw funnily enough.
