PLYMOUTH v TRANMERE – Pick: 1 – 25 April 2015

Plymouth to finish off home form in style

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League Two

Saturday 25th April 2015 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

With just two league matches of the regular season remaining, Plymouth Argyle need to step up here this afternoon in their last home match of the season as they look to hang onto their current play-off status.

Plymouth have lost three matches in their last eight matches, but these losses came away from Home Park, while on home turf (no pun intended) they’ve lost just once in their last nine matches which was a 2-0 loss to Bury. Apart from that though, The Pilgrims have recently registered wins over Accrington Stanley, Cambridge United, Northampton Town and Mansfield Town.

Plymouth’s overall home record stands at a pretty good  12-6-4  31/12 and they’ve kept a total of 12 clean sheets so far at home this season.

Visitors Tranmere Rovers slumped to a fourth consecutive League Two defeat last weekend when they lost 3-0 at home to Oxford United which has further compounded their relegation worries with Rovers being left bottom of the division as a result.

In fact, Tranmere have now gone seven matches without a win overall, having lost five of those and as a result they’ve earned just two points in their last 21 on offer. Their away record stands at  4-5-13  17/30 and they’ve won just once in their last nine matches on the road.

Momentum and form is definitely on plymouth’s side here at Home Park so I’ll back them to nick all three points in what could be a narrow 1-0 win.
