AFC Wimbledon preserved their unbeaten run at the weekend when they held Wycombe Wanderers to a 1-1 draw at their Cherry Red Records’ Stadium on Saturday and tonight’s hosts are now unbeaten in their last five matches in League Two.
Wimbledon have picked up their game in recent weeks and have registered wins over Accrington Stanley and York City (both away from home) along with a 2-0 home win over Hartlepool United. In addition, The Wombles also earned a valuable point away at play-off candidates Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
Wimbledon have lost just once in their last seven on home turf which was a 5-2 reverse to Morecambe but aside from that, Neil Ardley’s boys look in reasonable shape as they’ve moved up the table to 8th spot and just two points adrift of Leyton Orient.
Visitors Dagenham & Redbridge currently sit rock bottom of League Two as they were dealt another defeat on the weekend, that being a 1-0 loss at home to second placed Oxford United. This was Dagenham’s third defeat on the trot as they’ve succumbed to Accrington Stanley and Luton Town also, and tonight’s visitors are without a win from their last 11 league matches.
Away from home, The Daggers hold a pretty poor record of 1-3-4 10/17 with only Stevenage and Barnet conceding more goals on the road than them, along with just one clean sheet from their last 16 matches on their travels.
Of these 16 matches, Dagenham have conceded 2 goals or more on no fewer than 12 occasions, and they could well be up against it again this evening.
To wrap up, this should be a fairly straight-forward home win for Wimbledon.
