Football – England – National League Betting Tips

Woking ended their poor run of four straight defeats in the National League on Saturday when they overturned Halifax Town in convincing fashion in a 3-0 win at The Shay which put a halt to their slide down the non-league table.

Woking sit mid-table following defeats to Cheltenham Town, Braintree Town, Dover Athletic and Southport but they’ll certainly take heart from their improved performance on the road in West Yorkshire, with a home match against beleaguered Torquay United in prospect at their Kingfield Stadium tonight.

The Cards’ home form form reads  5-0-2  14/6 and although they’ve lost their last two on the trot on home turf in recent weeks, they’ll be confident of getting among the points here this evening while free-scoring midfielder Goddard looks the likeliest anytime goalscorer for the hosts.

Visitors Torquay United went a step better on the weekend when they put an end to a horrific twelve-match run without a win in the non-league top flight with a much-needed 1-0 win away at fellow strugglers Southport.

However, The Gulls still remain in the bottom four of the division despite that desperately-needed three points, and it remains to be seen whether Saturday’s result can kick-start their disappointing start to the new season where they had previously registered just two wins prior to Saturday’s result.

Torquay’s away record reads  2-3-3  12/15 and conceding goals on their travels has been Torquay’s main problem on the road as they’re currently possess the fourth worst defence away from home in the division. Just one clean sheet from their first eight away matches tells its own story while they’ve conceded 2 goals or more on six occasions already.

Saturday’s wins will be a major boost for both sides, but I fancy Woking to gain the edge here tonight in perhaps a 2-1 win for The Cards.
