Football – England – National league Betting Tips

Fourth placed Woking will have their eyes set on three points here this afternoon when they entertain struggling Welling United at their Kingfield Stadium, and a win for the hosts could see them move up into second place depending on other results.

Woking have lost just once in their first six matches of the new National league season which was a first day loss away at Tranmere Rovers 1-0. but since then, The Cards have strung together a five-match unbeaten run which includes recent wins against Bromley, Altrincham, Torquay United and Chester as well as gaining a point away at Boreham Wood in a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

In addition, Woking have won all three of their home matches to date amidst an overall home record of  3-0-0  9/2 with goals being in plentiful supply as midfielder Goddard and forward Holman look the most likely anytime goalscorer for the hosts.

Visitors Welling United have suffered almost the reverse to Woking as they’ve managed just one National League win from their first six league matches of the new season, that being an opening 1-0 home win over Grimsby Town at their Park View ground.

However, since that opening win of the new term, Welling have lost four of their next five matches overall with defeats to Forest Green Rovers, Macclesfield Town, Wrexham and Braintree Town, while they avoided defeat at home to Eastleigh in a high-scoring 2-2 draw.

But on the road, Welling have been very disappointing so far as they’ve lost all three away matches within an overall road record of  0-0-3  1/4, and indeed, they’ve managed just one away win from their last 13 on their travels.

This last statistic has made up my mind on the hosts winning this one, and I’ll also back them to cover the -1 handicap as well with perhaps a solid 2-0 win for Woking.
