YEOVIL v ROCHDALE – Pick: 2 AH0 – 25 October 2014

Glovers may find Dale hard to handle

League One/Two Tips

Football – England – League One

Saturday 25th October 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

If Yeovil Town had entertained ideas before the new League One season began of making an instant return to the Championship, then they were given a very rude awakening down at Huish Park as The Glovers currently occupy one of the bottom four places in the division.

Yeovil are currently experiencing their worst run of results for some time as they’ve gone five matches without a win and have lost four of these with defeats to Crawley Town, MK Dons, Port Vale and away at Sheffield United on Tuesday night with just a point against Swindon Town as respite.

Yeovil’s home form has been littered with stalemates which has prevented the west country outfit from escaping from the lower reaches of the division, with an overall record of  1-4-2  5/9. A lack of goals on home turf has been the main culprit with only Leyton Orient (4 goals) scoring fewer than them at home in League One.

Visitors Rochdale registered a fine three points away at Swindon Town on Tuesday night beating The Robins 3-2 and in turn scuppering my Swindon Town pick (they always seem to let me down!), as Dale moved up into 9th place.

Rochdale have more than held their own so far in League One and they’ve lost just once in their last six which was a 0-1 loss at home to Barnsley, but they’ve recently recorded wins over Walsall, Coventry City (those pair again!), Leyton Orient and Swindon Town – the latter two being away from home.

Dale’s overall away record stands at  4-0-2  16/9 and they’ve won as many away games as the top two sides Bristol City and Peterborough United, and scoring the highest number of goals on the road in the division. Incidentally, Rochdale’s defeats came away at top half Chesterfield and Sheffield United.

For potential anytime goalscorers, look no further than Dale pair Done (7 goals) and Henderson (5 goals).

While Yeovil are still in ‘draw’ mode, I’ll take my chances with the draw no bet option on the visitors Rochdale here as they are proven goalscorers on the road and may well take all three points here today, perhaps in a 2-1 win.
