Both Young Boys and their opponents, Lausanne, have made slightly indifferent starts to their Swiss Super League campaigns having won twice from their first four league matches of the new Swiss domestic season.
Despite their slow start though, Young Boys appear to have the edge over this evening’s visitors as they’ve already been competing in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League. Visitors Lausanne sit just one league position and one point above their hosts Young Boys ahead of this evening’s clash in Bern; and having registered back-to-back wins against FC Sion and St Gallen, they may well fancy their chances of getting something against Young Boys today.
Lausanne will need to improve upon their away results though if they’re to make any in-roads in Bern this evening as they’ve gained just three wins on their travels from their last ten matches – these wins were gained at Zurich, Luzern and Sion.
Lausanne are newcomers back to the Swiss Super League following promotion from the Challenge League at the end of last season, but this game could be their hardest test yet in this new season.
