Ireland v Poland international friendly betting will see Giovanni Trapattoni’s men trying to rediscover their winning touch. Ireland lost their last outing 1-0 at home against Greece, a disappointing result to round out the year with. Now they have go into another tricky match against what could be a tough opponent who will push them. There has been two losses in the last three matches now for Ireland, a heavy 6-1 defeat against Germany in the World Cup 2014 qualifiers joining that defeat by Greece. Sandwiched in between that was a 4-1 win over the Faroe Island in their Brazil 2014 qualifying group. Form is something that Ireland need to nail down if they are going to compete with Sweden in Group C of World Cup qualifying.

There has only been one previous meeting between Ireland and Poland in Ireland and that was a game which the Irish lost 3-2. That was back in November of 2008, goals from Stephen Hunt and Keith Andrews not enough to get anything out of the match. For Poland, Robert Lewandowski was on the scoresheet that day and will be a threat in the match as their star attraction. Poland have looked solid enough of late. They are in England’s World Cup qualifying group of course, having taken draws against the English and group leaders Montenegro so far. The Poles have lost one of their last six international matches now, that single defeat being a 3-1 home loss against Uruguay. They have already been in international action this year, beating Romania 4-1 on February 2nd as a warm up to face Ireland.

Tough looking match again for Ireland, but the home side could do with getting a bit of confidence back in their ranks, as they have some big World Cup qualifiers coming up. A draw doesn’t look a bad option in this one.
