Bournemouth will be aiming to make it eight Championship matches without defeat when they host Ipswich Town at Dean Court on Saturday afternoon.

The Cherries have hit a purple patch of form lately having won six of their last seven league matches as well as a Capital One Cup win over Premier League West Brom, but they will face another tough test here this afternoon against Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich Town side.

Middlesbrough ended Bournemouth’s run of six straight Championship wins last time out at the Riverside Stadium as the two sides battled it out in a 0-0 draw, and a similar result could unfold this afternoon with both teams looking to avoid defeat. Bournemouth’s home record stands at  5-1-2  13/8 and they’ve won their last four on the trot.

Ipswich Town have also recovered in recent weeks as they’ve registered three wins on the trot in the league following a run of five matches without a win. But the Tractor Boys’ situation wasn’t even that bad as they’d drawn four of those five matches with a defeat away at Cardiff City being their only blot in their last thirteen matches.

Incidentally, Ipswich have drawn five of their last thirteen Championship matches while their last three wins have been over Blackpool 2-0 away and back-to-back home wins over Wolves and Watford 2-1 and 1-0 respectively.

Ipswich’s away record stands at  2-4-2  11/11 and they’ve lost just once in their last seven.

Both teams here possess likely goalscorers in the shape of Wilson, Pitman and Kermorgant for Bournemouth, while Ipswich have the likes of Murphy, McGoldrick and Sammon in their attacking personnel. They could therefore cancel each other out, and I reckon the draw represents good value as this could end up a 1-1 stalemate.
