Derby County will be looking to build upon their solid 2-0 win away at Bolton Wanderers on the weekend when they entertain Bournemouth at Pride Park on Tuesday night as they bid to extend their unbeaten run.

Derby are now six matches without defeat, a run which has pushed them up into sixth place and includes a thumping 5-1 home win over Fulham and away wins at Blackburn Rovers at their Ewood Park ‘fortress’ and of course the recent Bolton win.

Steve McClaren’s men are also unbeaten in their last four on home turf where they hold an early record of  2-2-0  9/4, with forwards Jamie Ward and Chris Martin forming an impressive partnership up front while midfielder Craig Bryson pulls the strings – all of this without star midfielder George thorn who has been ruled out for pretty much the whole season.

Onto Bournemouth, and The Cherries ended a run of six matches without a win on Saturday when they registered a 2-0 home win over Wigan Athletic who have now lost four of their last five on their travels. Bournemouth certainly took advantage of this fact with goals from Kermorgant and Francis to hand them a much-needed three points.

But the fact still remains that the south coast outfit have won just once in their last seven matches and that was a 4-0 win at fifth from bottom club Huddersfield Town last month, while their overall away record stands at  1-2-1  8/5 despite goals from striker Callum Wilson.

Hosts Derby County have been in good forn though and I’ll back them to take the points here tonight at Pride Park where they hold a very strong record. The Rams could take this perhaps 2-1.
