Derby to bounce back at Preston's expense

Championship Tips

DERBY COUNTY v PRESTON NORTH END

Tuesday 2nd February 2016 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

Derby County have had a torrid last few weeks as their form has dipped in the Championship and as a result, The Rams have dropped out of automatic promotion reckoning for the time being and now find themselves amongst the play-off pack.

Paul Clement’s side have now gone five Championship matches without a win as they’ve lost to Middlesbrough, Birmingham City and Burnley although it should be remembered that all three of these sides currently occupy a top six position.

Derby still possess a pretty solid home record despite losing to Birmingham City 3-0 last time out at the iPro Stadium, but with the visit of bottom half outfit Preston North End tonight, the hosts should fancy their chances of turning things around here.

Visitors Preston’s encouraging upturn in form came to an end last weekend when they lost 3-1 at home to Brentford at Deepdale, and they now face a bruised Derby County outfit looking to return to winning ways and fast.

Preston had previously strung together wins over Hull City, Rotherham United and Bristol City along with a solid point away from home at Ipswich Town in a 1-1 draw, while performances away from home have been mixed all season.

Preston’s overall away record stands at an inconsistent  4-5-5  13/14 and their last five matches provides a fair reflection of their results with defeats at Leeds United and Huddersfield Town, along with a draw at Ipswich and wins at Burnley and Bristol City.

Derby have to start winning again sooner rather than later, so I’ll back them to bounce back with a win tonight.
