FULHAM v BOURNEMOUTH – Pick: 1 AH0 – 06 March 2015

Cottagers look to take shine off Cherries

Championship Tips

Football – England – Championship

Friday 6th March 2015 – Kickoff: 1945hrs

Fulham and Bournemouth start this weekend off with a Friday night clash at Craven Cottage as the hosts, Fulham, look for a fourth home win in six matches.

Despite having won just once in their last eight matches in the Championship (which incidentally was a 2-0 win over high-flying Derby County), Kit Symons’ men have every right to believe they can get something against the south coast outfit tonight, having won three of their last five at Craven Cottage.

Fulham have recently beaten Reading, Nottingham Forest and Derby County and these wins will have given them a much-needed boost in their fight against possible relegation from the second tier. Their home record stands at  8-3-6  27/20 and their leading goalscorers are Rodallega and McCormack (10 goals apiece).

Visitors Bournemouth have slipped down the table to fourth place after having registered just one league win from their last six, which was a 2-1 win over Wolves at Dean Court on Tuesday night. The Cherries are only three points adrift of Middlesbrough and top spot, but maybe, just maybe, the rigours of a very competitive Championship season might just be catching up with them?

Manager Eddie Howe has done a fantastic job of getting the best out of his side on a shoe-string budget, but they face a tough assignment in the capital this Friday night against a Fulham side who are generally pretty solid on home turf.

Bournemouth’s away record stands at  9-3-5  37/17 but perhaps a few cracks are starting to appear as they’ve lost three of their last four on the road with recent defeats at Leeds United, Brentford and Nottingham Forest.

To sum up, I reckon Fulham are in with a shout of getting at least a point here tonight, and they might just nick it perhaps 2-1. I advise backing them with the round ball though in case it’s a draw.
